• Domestic & General's call centre raises Sport Relief funds for 12th consecutive year
  • 100 employees, the Mayor and other public figures will take national donation calls

Volunteers targeting to beat donations raised last year
Domestic & General, the UK's leading appliance care specialist, is teaming up with Brighton's Mayor to host an official Sport Relief fundraiser on Friday 23 March 2018. The event is a continuation of the company's long standing support for the charity.

Around 100 employees at D&G's Brighton call centre will voluntarily man the phones for the nationwide fundraising, which starts at 6:30pm and will last for the duration of the live TV show on BBC.

They will be joined by Councillor Mo Marsh, Mayor of Brighton and several other public figures, including Marcellus Baz, Boxing coach and BBC Get Inspired Unsung Hero 2016, and popular sports journalist Gavin Ramjaun.

The aim of the event is to raise as much money as possible from the public by asking viewers to donate during the live broadcast. Funds raised go towards helping vulnerable people, across the UK and the world, to live happier, healthier and safer lives.

Last year D&G's Brighton call centre raised an impressive amount from the occasion, which it hopes to beat this Friday. The business has hosted the fundraiser for 12 consectuive years, in addition to its support for Red Nose Day.

Commenting ahead of the event, Mark Nardin from D&G said: "Sport Relief is one of the best examples of a charity inspiring people to take action. We have worked with the organisation for a long time, which is really down to the enthusiasm and commitment our employees have shown for the initiative. I am hugely proud that they are so engaged and willing to give over their free time."

Councillor Mo Marsh, the Mayor of Brighton: "It fills me with great pride to see a company in this city commit and contribute to such a worthwhile cause. Sport Relief does a huge amount to help the vulnerable in both the UK and some of the world's poorest countries. Every pound raised will help improve people's lives who are in a far less fortunate position."
